Living is Deciding

It is a simple fact of life that living consists of making decisions. Even deciding to not decide or to deny, affirm or refuse others wishes, is a decision in and of itself.

In this light, we are making decisions from our births until death. As children, our decisions consist primarily of obeying parents, those older than us and authority figures. As we grow into teenagers, we begin defying those same parents (and authority figures) in becoming more autonomous, again making decisions along the way.

As we become adults, we have hopefully honed our decision making abilities and skills. An adult’s decision to return to obeying authorities as he/she did as a child, is again a decision each time, with the difference of 100% accountability. Obeying your spouse, employer, government official or even your minor child, do not relinquish the fact that you chose and decided to obey.

Challenges in the form of more available distractions and diversions, drugs and alcohol, as well as any other measures to lessen our stress and anxiety, are in fact decisions in themselves, as are the approaches chosen, decided to deal with a situation.

The positive part of making the decision to accept the premise that “Living is Deciding” is that your life is very much in your control. You realize that you have a plethora of opportunities to change and improve your life at almosy any moment.

Remember this and make the decision to start living the life you want and desire immediately.

Good luck… Should you decide to follow the advice presented herein!
